CRIECS – Research Center for Innovation in Circular Economy and Health – was established in 2023 in Rieti with the goal of promoting research and innovation in the fields of circular economy, health, and sustainable technologies. The Center is the result of a collaboration among three partners: the University of Tuscia, Sapienza University of Rome, and the Scientific and Technological Park of Upper Lazio.

Structured as an inter-university network, CRIECS brings together high-tech research laboratories, accessible to both businesses and the local community. This network fosters the integration of scientific and technological expertise, creating a fertile environment for collaboration between academia, industry, and entrepreneurship.

Research is developed through three main projects that address major environmental, health, and technological issues, with a focus on designing concrete, scalable solutions capable of generating tangible impacts across various application sectors.

Technology transfer is a central element of CRIECS‘s strategy: the Center supports companies in their innovation journey, facilitating the transformation of research results into competitive products, services, and processes. Through the sharing of specialized know-how and cutting-edge technologies, CRIECS helps strengthen companies’ innovation capacity and sustainability.

The projects aim to encourage the adoption of low environmental impact technologies, digitalization, and production efficiency, while also strengthening dialogue with local authorities, institutions, and scientific communities. In this way, CRIECS positions itself as a key reference point for the development of high value-added innovations, capable of combining research, business, and regional development with a vision of sustainable growth.
