Leroy Merlin Italy takes a major step forward in its sustainability journey by achieving ISO 50001 certification, the international standard for efficient energy management. This recognition confirms the company’s concrete commitment – as part of the Adeo Group – to reducing environmental impact and promoting an increasingly responsible business model.
This achievement is the result of years of structured and cross-functional work involving the entire organization: from the installation of photovoltaic systems, LED lighting, and high-efficiency air conditioning systems to the intelligent monitoring of energy consumption through BMS (Building Management System).
Special attention was also given to internal training and the active engagement of employees in the ecological transition process.
The numbers speak for themselves: despite the expansion of its retail network, Leroy Merlin Italy has reduced energy consumption by 9% and gas consumption by 43% compared to 2021. Today, 77% of the energy used comes from renewable sources, with 95% of electricity powered by green energy alone.
This milestone aligns with the Adeo Group’s environmental goals: a 50% reduction in emissions by 2035 (compared to 2021) and carbon neutrality by 2050. A virtuous path aimed not only at improving internal efficiency but also at offering sustainable solutions to customers, promoting a shared culture of environmental responsibility.
